Audible Magic to Launch Live TV Content Synchronization Service at CES 2012

LOS GATOS, CA, December 5, 2011 – Audible Magic, a leader in automated content recognition (ACR) technologies and services, today announced that it will introduce a new live television identification and synchronization service at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this coming January 10-13 in Las Vegas. The new service capitalizes on Audible Magic’s patented digital-fingerprint ACR technology to identify TV content even if it is live, never-before-seen, reality-based material.

For content owners, broadcasters, programmers, and other application providers, this service also offers several significant new opportunities. With it, for example, they can now add content-aware intelligence to smart, connected device applications on televisions, mobile devices, and set-top boxes. In addition, they can use the intelligence they acquire to create and support new forms of social engagement, advertising recognition and response, and audience measurement.

As a leading innovator in ACR, Audible Magic has built a broad-based portfolio of awarded patents in the areas of digital fingerprinting and content identification. Partners gain access to this portfolio when they acquire Audible Magic’s services, including the new live television identification service.

Audible Magic will release details of this service at CES. The company will also provide demonstrations at its booth, #73507, which will be located in the CES Eureka Park Tech Zone in the Bellini Ballroom of the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.

"We're excited about the prospects of this new service and have been working with development partners to integrate our technology into their applications," said Jay Friedman, VP Marketing for Audible Magic. “Participating at CES gives us the chance to reach out to a broad spectrum of industry participants and really show them what our technology can do for them."

A major consumer technology event for more than 40 years, the International Consumer Electronics Show is owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), a trade association, which promotes the growth of the $186 billion U.S. consumer technology industry and represents more than 2000 corporate members. This coming year’s CES is expected to feature more than 2700 exhibitors.
