Music Registration
Organizations with a large number of works to register should contact Audible Magic to set up an electronic registration service. Independent musical artists and smaller labels may register electronically or physically through an authorized reseller, or they may register physically with Audible Magic. Following is an overview of what is needed. Please contact one of the listed resellers or Audible Magic for pricing and more information.
There is a fee for each master audio CD registered, regardless of the number of songs. The physical registration method is slightly more expensive. Once your songs are registered, you will receive documentation for your files.
What You Will Need To Prepare
In order to register your music, a fingerprint and identifying metadata is required for each song. It is desirable to have the best quality audio from which to generate the reference for the Audible Magic database.
To be comprehensive, all versions and each performance of the song needs to be registered, including international versions and radio or other special releases. This is necessary because Audible Magic’s technology can differentiate between live and studio performances of a song and even between different studio performances. Each performance requires a separate fingerprint. The technology cannot identify cover versions unless a recording of the cover has been registered.
In order to accurately and efficiently process your music, the following information is requested.
