The plug-and-play CopySense Appliance connects easily to any network and is simple to manage.

Robust P2P & URL Control

The CopySense Appliance provides the tools to:

• Log and analyze the P2P load on your network
• Limit P2P traffic to only use an allocated portion of bandwidth
• Filter P2P traffic:
  • Block all P2P file transfers, or...
  • Block only transfers containing copyrighted content, and/or...
  • Block transfers containing illegal child pornography, and/or...
  • Block transfers containing other pornographic or offensive content
• Filter WWW traffic:
  • Block known malicious websites, and/or...
  • Block illegal sites containing child pornography, and/or...
  • Block other pornographic or offensive sites

Education & Administration Module

When a user attempts to violate network policies, this add-on functionality enables the CopySense Appliance to automatically respond with selected actions:

• Redirect the user’s web browser to warning or educational message pages
• Keep the user’s identifying information anonymous or report it to network management
• Disable network access to the user for a specified time period
• Specify separate, escalating automatic actions on first, second, third and fourth violation attempts

Easy Set Up

The CopySense® Appliance comes pre-configured in a (1-U size) rack or small stand-alone system. Simply connect to your network. Two LAN connections are required. One listens to network traffic and the other provides transaction control information back to the network.

Easy to Use

All functions are managed via an easy-to-use web browser interface.

Secure

The CopySense Appliance accepts control only from its administrators’ addresses. It won’t respond to probes or control attempts from anywhere else on the network.

Flexible Control

Your P2P control choices can be applied to the entire network or to specified network addresses. Choose different rules for internal/external transactions or uploads/downloads. Rules may be set to operate at specified hours of the day. Use the built-in measurement and reporting capabilities to plan further refinements to your choices.
